Otterbein's Luke Barber Selected Academic All-District (Baseball)

Austintown, Ohio-Otterbein University junior Luke Barber (Gahanna, Ohio/ St. Francis DeSales) has earned a spot on the Div. III Baseball Academic All-District Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). The Academic All-District Teams recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

Barber, a mechanical engineering major with a 3.98 GPA, will now advance to the Academic All-America ballot. Barber is a two-time All-OAC selection, has started 92 career games and led the league in home runs as a sophomore. 

To be eligible for Academic All-America consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at his/her current institution and be nominated by their sports information director. Academic All-America selections for baseball/softball will be announced next month.
