Marietta junior Tommy Crowl (Cincinnati/Summit Country Day) threw 11 shutout innings in two appearances last week. He tossed three innings of one-hit relief in Marietta's 9-1 win over Capital striking out five of the 11 Crusader batters he faced. Crowl followed that up with eight innings of shutout pitching in his start at Wilmington, a 13-0 victory for the Pioneers. He allowed the Quakers five hits, all singles, and struck out six Wilmington hitters.
