Commissioner Tim Gleason Recipient of the D3CA Dennis M. Collins Lifetime Achievement Award

Ohio Athletic Conference Commissioner (OAC) Tim Gleason was honored by the Division III Commissioners Association (D3CA) on Monday with the Dennis M. Collins Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Dennis M. Collins Lifetime Achievement Award was established in 2019 to honor and preserve the legacy of Collins who served as president of the DIIICA, who he helped form in 1989. He was the first Executive Director of the North Coast Athletic Conference and served from 1984 until his passing in 2009.

Gleason became the first full-time commissioner of the OAC in 1991 and has led the Conference into national and international limelight throughout his tenure. His service to the NCAA is lengthy as he was a member of the Division III  Management Council from 2004-09, has chaired the prestigious NCAA Honors Committee and has served as a member of the Championships Committee, Strategic Planning Committee, Infractions Appeals Committee, Legislation Committee and Division III Football Committee. Finally, Gleason was the president of the DIIICA in 2004 and 2005 where he fathered the $1.4 million NCAA Conference Grant Program. Three years later, in 2008, he received the orgranization's Meritorious Service Award.
